Learning System

Students learn using a variety of methods, some of which are problem-based learning, collaborative learning, experiential learning, classical / lecture and tutorial connected to lab / tutorial, intra-curricular and extracurricular activities. Intra-curricular activities are field activities related to materials delivered in the courses and part of the grading components. Meanwhile, extracurricular activities, even though linked to materials delivered in the classes, are not part of the grading components. The extracurricular activities are designed by and for students in the student club and associations under the supervision of the university or department.

Learning Methods applied in the management department are:

Student-Centered Learning (SCL)

The lecturer plays a role as facilitator in this system. The learning process focuses on students instead of lecturers. Students learn, either in a group or individually, to build knowledge by actively seeking and investigating information and technology. Students not only study materials in classes, but also learn how to learn through exploration, analysis, and problem-solving, as well as the creation of knowledge.

Tutorial

Tutorial is an additional practice session of daily class sessions on the technical aspects that have been learned in regular classes. It is conducted by a lecturer or his assistant. The tutorial session is called the 'Bimbingan' (Tutorial) class. If the tutorial is conducted in a laboratory, it is called a laboratory class.

Laboratory

The laboratory class provides the introduction to practical management using computer and other information technology methods to solve a particular problem in a systematic manner.

Internship/Field Work

The aim of this internship program is to give students the opportunity to improve their skills and to apply the knowledge they have acquired in the classroom to the real working world. They would certainly have had useful experience working in real businesses. The working plans of the interns will depend on where they are assigned.  During the internship program, the interns are required to work five days a week from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and they are required to work under the supervision of a mentor.
